About the candidate

Meet Meriam

Meriam Sabih grew up in a family of Pakistani immigrants — her mother worked at the VA Hospital, her father in the New York State Court Administration. She learned early that public service is a calling, not a career.

A journalist who has reported for Al Jazeera America, HuffPost, and the Toronto Star, Meriam brought that same commitment to truth and community to Upper Saucon Township, where she has lived for over 15 years. She is a mother of three boys, a Southern Lehigh School Board member, and a 2023 Non-Resident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council.

In 2024, she outraised MacKenzie nearly two-to-one. In 2026, she is ready to win.
